Why should I be a member of the GHHC?

We need your support to continue to be a strong influence in the equine community and government affairs. We want to be able to continue to offer clinics and seminars that benefit the horse community. We need to have our collective voice heard in Austin on the State level and in Washington on the Federal level. We successfully lobbied to defeat the State Veterinary Board’s attempt to require equine dentists to work under supervision of a licensed veterinarian.  Rumor has it that the Board also wants to regulate farriers. Can one person make their voice heard? Can the Greater Houston Horse Council? You bet we can.

Do you know what to do and where to go when the next hurricane strikes our area?

The Horse Council has a Disaster & Emergency Preparedness committee that works to keep you informed and educated.

Have you ever wanted to ride in the Grand Entry of the Rodeo?

A group of us were able to participate in this great tradition last year.

Having trouble with your horse?

Attend a clinic that the Horse Council sponsors and receive a day full of education for a fraction of the cost of a trainer.

Like horse people?

Then you will like us. We can’t spend all of our time with our horse, so why not attend a meeting once in a while and spend a few hours with your fellow horsemen & women. You’ll be glad you did!
